Erika Wollam

Erika Wollam-Nichols is President and GM of The Bluebird Cafe overseeing all aspects of the venue’s on-site and off-site operations along with marketing, sponsorship and brand development of The Bluebird Cafe name. Her relationship with The Bluebird began in 1984 when she was a student at Belmont.

Prior to her current position at The Bluebird, she was Director of Development for the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) where she oversaw the organization’s fundraising, marketing and community relation’s efforts for three years (2005-2008).

Past experience includes Vice-President of Marketing & Community Outreach at The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum where she developed the music programming efforts, including the regular songwriter performances, in the new museum. Prior to that she was director of Tin Pan South from 1996-2001 and for many years oversaw the performance program for the annual Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. She was Associate Producer of the weekly Nashville Public Radio series, “The Songwriter Sessions,” for five years and the former Program Director for the Summer Lights Festival from 1991 until 1996.


An alumnus of Leadership Music, she serves on the Board of Directors for the organization along with the boards of the ACLU/TN and was formerly on the board of the Nashville Chapter of the Recording Academy.

Erika received her BA with a major in philosophy and a minor in journalism from Belmont University and an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts. She is a former adjunct instructor for Watkins College of Art, Design & Film in Nashville.
