Renee Bell

For more than three decades, A&R executive Renee Bell has been involved with some of the most important and influential recordings in country music. Perhaps best known for her ability to pick hit song and an approachable personality that is sensitive to the creative process, Renee enjoys a reputation is as solid as the statistics that mark her success. Her career has generated a staggering number of hit records including over 100 #1 songs and over 100 million albums sold. Renee was the first female Executive Vice President of A&R for Sony Records’ Nashville where she creatively shepherded the careers of the label’s roster, which included Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood, Brooks & Dunn, Sara Evans, Jake Owen, Martina McBride, and others. Her involvement is most evident with the undeniable success of the songs she selected for Kenny Chesney: “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy” “There Goes My Life” “When The Sun Goes Down” and “How Forever Feels.” all of which were career records for this Platinum-selling dynamo. Her influence on the Carrie Underwood recordings is equally notable, having chosen the breakthrough hit songs “Jesus Take The Wheel” “Don’t Forget To Remember Me” and “Wasted.” Other standout songs include “Ain’t Nothing ‘Bout You” for Brooks & Dunn, “Stronger” by Sara Evans, “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” by Jake Owen, “This One’s For The Girls” by Martina McBride, “I Don’t Need Your Rockin’ Chair” by George Jones, and “Is There Life Out There” by Reba McEntire,. A native of Gainesville, GA, Renee started her career in Atlanta at MCA Records’ distribution center. Her passion for country music quickly caught the eye of legendary producer Tony Brown, who moved Renee to Nashville to work in the A&R department at the label’s country music office. At MCA, she was responsible for signing artists David Lee Murphy and The Mavericks and worked on the song selections with the producers on the albums for George Jones, Conway Twitty, George Strait, Reba McEntire,Wynonna Judd and many many more.
