In March, 1974 Susan Turner was hired by Capitol Records in Atlanta, GA as a clerk typist for their Country division; in September of that year, the label's Frank Jones and Bill Williams asked her to move to Nashville as their promotion secretary. From 1978 to 1980 she worked for RCA's Joe Galante and Dave Wheeler, moving to Disc Mastering in 1980. In 1985 she joined O'Neil Hagaman as Kerry O'Neil's assistant. In 1987, Susan became office manager and publicity coordinator for artist management firm Moress, Nanas, Peay. In 1991 Stan Moress and Chip Peay dissolved the company and she joined Bruce Shindler Promotions. In January 1992, the company became Shindler-Turner Promotions. When Bruce left to join Dreamworks Records, she hired Jody Van Alin and Jim Malito and they became Turner & Associates; working such artists as Garth Brooks, Shania Twain, Brooks & Dunn, Tim McGraw, Keith Urban & many, many more. For 14 years they were one of the top three Billboard and R&R independent promotion companies, working product for 99% of the major labels with 253 #1 singles, 125 of which were multiple week #1's to their credit. In December of 2004, Susan closed Turner & Associates and moved to the St. George Island area of Florida where she owned resort property. She worked with Prudential Resort Realty and was on the board of Franklin County's Humane Society. In 2006 she began a show in Apalachicola, FL at the historical Dixie Theatre called "The Dixie Does Nashville." bringing in numerous songwriters to do four writers-in-the- round shows a year. In December 2008 she returned to Nashville. She has worked for Just For Kids LLC in administration and loves working with little children!
